Network Infrastructure Specialist

Full-time

We are currently seeking a Network Specialist who possesses a positive and professional attitude to assist with the growth and development of our customers. The specialist will need to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

Our ideal candidate will possess much more than simply the ability to configure and maintain the components of a network, but rather be able to analyze our goals and requirements in order to create the ideal infrastructure to power these systems. This will require an integrated understanding of each layer involved in the process of transmitting data over a network.

Responsibilities

• Local Area Network design and implementation
• Continual evaluation and optimization of current network infrastructure (latency reduction, performance optimization, and health monitoring)
• Administration duties including but not limited to monitoring network devices, modifying firewall settings as required, server administration (dns, dhcp, http, smtp, snmp), etc.
• Emergency troubleshooting
• Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations

Requirements & Skills

• Expert understanding of all core concepts involved in servers computing hardware
• Expert understanding of Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)
• Expert understanding of network architecture, security, and optimization
• Expert understanding of L3 switched LAN environments
• Expert understanding of transport protocols (TCP, UDP)
• Expert understanding of Cisco networking products (Catalyst, ASA)

Preferred Assets

• CCNA Level Cisco Certification
• Microsoft A+
• Experience in the telecommunications industry (data networking, wide area networks, metro area networks, Mpls)
